Recycling Christmas Trees

If you don't know this about us at Castle Hill Farm, we are big on reducing, reusing, and recycling! At the end of our Christmas Tree Season, we sometimes have one or two leftover pre-cut trees, those are sometimes donated or reused to decorate on the farm. But that's not all- after the holidays (which in our home, when the tree is taken down in February, sometimes March!), our tinsel-free tree is brought out to our goats, Lucy, Tillie, and Taunie, for a snack!

The goats love to eat the needles off of these evergreen trees and sometimes even nibble at the bark! So far, they have eaten FIVE Christmas Trees!! This makes for a very special holiday treat for them and is another way we are naturally recycling at the farm!
